Join the talented Wantage Band and their friends The Cotswold Voices for a joint concert to celebrate the summer this June at Stroud Subscription Rooms.

Wantage Band is the leading, championship section brass band from the Wantage Silver Band (WSB) organisation boasting eight bands and 200+ members including three learner bands, a big band, non-contesting community band and three contesting bands, making WSB quite possibly the largest brass band organisation in the UK. Formed in 1972, replacing a former town band, the one band then, was set up as a small youth band with just a handful of second instruments. WSB stands by and works hard to deliver on its charitable objectives devoting its time and efforts to education in music by practice and performance. In 2022 the organisation celebrated their 50th anniversary and, after huge fundraising efforts in recent years, the members have welcomed, with open arms, their very own second band hall in October 2023. Currently ranked in the top five in the London and Southern Counties region, the band enjoy working with Musical Director Chris King twice a week to put on many concerts in great venues across Oxfordshire and further. The band always likes to work with other groups and soloists too. In the last year this has included Wantage In Harmony, Tenor Horn Soloist Sheona White, Euphonium and Flugel Duo Glyn and Helen Williams, Oxford University Brass Band and many school groups.

The Cotswold Voices is a vibrant pop choir, established in 2010 by musical director, songwriter and teacher, Joe Moore, with over 80 members from the Oxfordshire, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire area. Excelling in original, tailor-made arrangements of well-known pop and musical hits, they rehearse and perform with energy and a smile. With everything taught by ear, no sheet music and no auditions, The Cotswold Voices is a completely universal community choir, welcoming all, regardless of experience or ability. Their aim is always to have fun and create beautiful harmonies together, as well as performing regularly to a high standard for a wide range of events and charities.

Both Wantage Band and The Cotswold Voices are thoroughly looking forward to collaborating once again and bringing their fantastic music to Stroud!
