The event will take place at St Mary de Crypt, with exclusive access to the Bell Tower and the Crypt itself—areas rarely open to the public and only accessible a handful of times each year. Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime experience steeped in history, mystery, and atmosphere.

Murder at the Crypt supports the core aims of Grove Productions by raising funds to produce professional, theatre-quality work that introduces students and audiences to live theatre, provides paid opportunities for local actors and creative professionals, and supports the delivery of workshops and learning experiences for students and practitioners. The event strengthens the local theatre community while inspiring engagement with high-quality, immersive performance.

Do you remember the first time you experienced live theatre? For many of us, our actors included, that moment opened a whole new world of enjoyment and opportunity. Yet many of the young people in the UK have never had that experience, they’ve never been inside a Theatre. The state provision for drama based education is suffering from significant funding cuts and rising costs, meanwhile, a cost of living crisis outside of the classroom means, 42% of UK parents with children under 16 cannot afford to attend a theatre or pantomime*. We want to change that. Grove Theatre Productions believes every child in Gloucestershire and its neighbouring counties deserves the chance to experience live theatre, regardless of background, ability or circumstance.

To make that happen, we need to raise £5,000 to register as a charity and continue expanding our work bringing theatre to children and young people who don't currently have that opportunity. We’ve already delivered 32 shows and lots of workshops but we’re not done yet! We’ve heard from teachers and young people what a difference they’ve made and we’re determined to reach more young people who might otherwise never encounter Theatre.
