RIDE FOR RYDER RETURNS TO THE BEAUTIFUL COTSWOLDS TO RAISE FUNDS FOR SUE RYDER

Sue Ryder’s beloved annual event, Ride for Ryder, returns on Sunday 7 July to help raise funds for the charity.

There will be five routes taking participants through the beautiful sights of the Cotswolds, meaning that people of all abilities will be able to take part in the ride.

Money raised will go directly the national palliative and bereavement support charity, which runs Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice in Cheltenham.

Marking the 36th year of the event, Sue Ryder has announced the annual Ride for Ryder, sponsored by Cape Homes, is set to return to Gloucestershire. Registration is now open, and the charity is encouraging anyone interested in taking part to sign up. Money raised from the event will help Sue Ryder continue to be there for families when it matters and make sure no one faces death or grief alone.

There will be five routes this year – 40km, 60km, 90km, 130km and 160km, for those really looking to push themselves. Cyclists will head off from Dean Close School in Cheltenham, through the stunning scenery of the Cotswolds on a variety of routes. Those taking part and supporting will also be hydrated and fed along the way, with regular food and drink stops for all to enjoy.

Laura Jeffries, Community Fundraising at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice, said: “We are delighted to announce the return of Ride for Ryder this July. The event is always a huge success and really popular with cyclists of all abilities from across the county. Staff and volunteers always look forward to it too, getting behind everyone and lining the streets in support. Fundraisers such as Ride for Ryder play a huge part in helping Sue Ryder to be there when it matters for families going through the most difficult times of their lives. We are really looking forward to seeing everyone there this summer!”

Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice will also be hosting its annual children’s cycling event on 6 July, in conjunction with the Cheltenham Town Wheelers to include all those aged 18 and under. More information will be shared on this event soon.
