A bright and welcoming contemporary art gallery and gift shop, showcasing the work of more than 20 artists alongside gallery owner Charlotte Keating's own dreamy abstract paintings.
The upstairs gallery space hosts a monthly rotation of curated themed exhibitions throughout the year, each beginning with a relaxed Bubbles & Browsing opening evening event to celebrate the launch of the new show, with everyone welcome to attend.
Alongside Charlotte’s expressive abstract paintings, each exhibition includes carefully selected work from a range of artists and makers to appeal to broader tastes and interiors, including paintings in different styles, photography, mosaics, printmaking, textiles, ceramics, jewellery, glass, wood & resin and other handcrafted pieces. Predominantly featuring artists from within a 50-mile radius, each exhibition offers visitors the chance to explore and discover something different from the last.
Downstairs, the gallery gift shop showcases artwork displayed by colour and theme rather than artist or medium, creating an inspiring and inviting space to explore. Original artwork sits alongside prints, cards, home décor and unique gifts, encouraging visitors to visualise how pieces may work together within their own homes. Charlotte’s distinctive way of mixing artwork, handmade pieces and colour creates a relaxed treasure-hunt feel, where visitors often discover unexpected combinations and one-of-a-kind finds.
The gallery features a wide variety of contemporary artwork and artisan gifts, including paintings, drawings, photography, mosaics, glass, textiles, ceramics, jewellery, candles, crystals, lamps, notebooks, wood & resin work, prints and cards.
The gallery also hosts regular artist talks and artist demonstrations, offering visitors an insight into the practices and inspiration of the represented artists.
Charlotte's art studio has it's own separate entrance open by appointment on Monday & Tuesdays however she continues to paint in the public shop space whilst its quiet - offering visitors a glimpse into the practice behind the paintings.
Previously working as a fashion designer before specialising in breastfeeding clothing and later embarking on a new career as a painter, Charlotte also showcases her own Breastfeed With Ease nursingwear collection alongside appliqué baby clothes and a selection of much-loved children’s board books. Nursing mums are warmly encouraged to pause for a moment on the gallery sofa to feed their babies with a little comfort and privacy whilst enjoying the artwork and tranquility of the gallery space.
