Sew it. Stuff it. Sniff it!

In this sweet-scented summer workshop, kids will sew their very own lavender heart using a sewing machine, fill it with dried lavender, and add a ribbon so it’s ready to hang. Whether they gift it or keep it, this is one of those projects that makes everyone go “wow – you made that?!”

 

 

They’ll learn how to:

• Use a sewing machine safely and confidently
• Cut and stitch curved shapes neatly
• Add a hanging ribbon
• Fill and finish a project with care
• Work with dried lavender for a multi-sensory sewing experience
• It’s fun, creative, and smells amazing — a lovely way to build sewing skills and come home with something they’ll be proud of.

A beautifully and gorgeous-smelling lavender heart to hang up in their room, in their wardrobe or to use as a gift for someone special.

Time: 10am – 4pm
Location: Newent Community Centre, Gloucestershire
Ages: Suitable for children aged 9 and over
Group Size: Maximum of 4 children
Tutor: Kim Reynolds – YouTube sewing teacher, Sewing Street TV presenter, City & Guilds-qualified, and Enhanced DBS cleared

Do they need to have sewn before?
Not at all – this workshop is beginner-friendly and designed to build confidence, even if they’ve never threaded a needle before.

Do we need our own sewing machine?
No – all equipment is provided! But if your child has their own machine and would like to learn on it, they’re welcome to bring it along.

Can my child attend more than one workshop?
Absolutely – they’re designed to complement each other, so your child can build skills across the summer. Discounts apply when booking 3 or more.

Is there a sibling discount?
Sibling discounts may be available. Please contact me directly before you book so that I can help. 

What do they need to bring?
A packed lunch, drink, and lots of enthusiasm! Oh, and a good night’s sleep the night before. All materials and snacks are included.

Can I stay with my child?
No, these are drop-off workshops to help build your child’s confidence and independence in a fun and safe environment. They will be ready to pick up at 4pm to show off what they have made, and you’re welcome to message me with any questions beforehand.
