Shakespeare Comes to Cheltenham Poetry Festival!

Well not actually Shakespeare, but Dr Chris Laoutaris the author of a best selling book on the Bard - 'Shakespeare's Book The Intertwined Lives Behind the First Folio'. Dr Chris is Associate Professor at the Shakespeare Institute in Stratford-Upon-Avon.

The New York Journal of Books said “Shakespeare’s Book by Chris Laoutaris is a must read for anyone with even a slight passing fancy for Shakespeare. It is not about William Shakespeare, per se, but details how the First Folio came into being.”
This talk is a must-hear talk!

When Shakespeare died, his plays had not been published. It is only because a group of his friends and admirers published the First Folio that Shakespeare’s reputation and legacy was secured. On the Bard's birthday find out about the fascinating story behind the book.

The event will be chaired by Jo Durrant, the award-winning presenter of the independent arts and science podcast Jo's Beautiful Universe.
