Earth House with Matthew Hollis and M.C. Smith

Cheltenham

Dates: 26/04/2024

Venue: St Andrew's United Reform Church Hall

Find out why the TLS said that Matthew Hollis "makes the language of his poetry an event in itself" as Matthew makes a rare appearance at Cheltenham.

Matthew Hollis is a poet who evokes the landscape, language, and ecology of the isles of Britain and Ireland to explore how our most intimate moments have resonance in the wider cycle of life. Matthew will be reading from his latest collection 'Earth House' (Faber), which was longlisted for the Laurel Prize for Poetry, a Book of the Year and Summer Reading in the Tablet, and BBC Radio 4 Extra Poetry Book of the Month.

He will be joined by exciting Welsh poet M C Smith.

In a separate event Matthew will also be reading from his Costa award-winning biography of Edward Thomas.
