The Arctic, the Environment and Us

Cheltenham

Dates: 27/04/2024

Venue: The Chapel, Francis Close Campus

Cheltenham Poetry Festival brings you a powerful event of environmental poetry.

It features Don Paterson, Helen Moore, and David Punter, three internationally renowned poets all of whom, in different ways, explore the impact of environments on human nature, and the impact of human nature on the environment. They will share with us thought-provoking and forward-thinking work.

Don Paterson is one of our greatest living poets. Don’s writing has won many awards, including the Whitbread Poetry Prize, the Geoffrey Faber Memorial Prize, the Costa Poetry Award, all three Forward Prizes, and the T. S. Eliot Prize on two occasions. He was awarded the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry in 2009. Don’t miss the chance to hear him read from his powerful new Faber collection ‘The Arctic’.
