Under The Influence

Cheltenham

Dates: 27/04/2024

Venue: Francis Close Campus, University of Gloucestershire

Celebrate with us the work of past and contemporary Gloucestershire poets and find out how past Gloucestershire poets, including Ivor Gurney, Edward Thomas and Laurie Lee, have influenced the work of four contemporary poets, who between them have published 17 poetry collections.

Duncan Forbes is the author of seven poetry collections and appears in many anthologies. Duncan will be sharing his own poems and those of Edward Thomas.

Kathryn Southworth is a Founding Fellow of the English Assn and will be sharing poems from her collection 'No Man’s Land', which were inspired by the life and work of Ivor Gurney.

Angela France has published four collections with Nine Arches Press, including 'The Hill' inspired by Leckhampton Hill. Like Angela, Rowan Middleton teaches creative writing at the University of Gloucestershire.
