The historic festival returns to Gloucester with a star-studded line-up of soloists and our orchestra-in-residence, the Philharmonia, in a programme that’s sure to excite. With over 70 events over nine days, highlights include a cornucopia of choral-orchestral classics: Berlioz’s Damnation of Faust, Elgar’s Cello Concerto, Vaughan Williams’ Sea Symphony, Rachmaninov’s Vespers, Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man, and Handel’s Israel in Egypt. Chamber music recitals include James Gilchrist, the Carducci Quartet, Roderick Williams and the Philharmonia Chamber Players, while our late-night offering includes an enticing range of jazz and world music.
