Pittville Pump Room Pop-up Returns Due to Popular Demand for the Festive Period

The Cheltenham Trust is delighted to announce that the Pittville Pump Room Pop-up Café will reopen for the festive period from Monday 22 December to Wednesday 31 December, following the success of the initial month’s pop-up.

The Pittville Pump Room pop-up is designed and curated by The Wilson Art Gallery and Museum, with a playful nod to the Georgian heritage of the Pump Room and a display celebrating the history of the Pump Room in six chapters. The Cheltenham Trust are asking for feedback from visitors, including their favourite memories and ideas for the future for the much-loved Grade I listed building.

The popular free programme of live music has been extended across the festive period with Incantata Strings (22 Dec), acoustic bassist Mark Gunner (23 Dec), composer and guitarist Dan Lewis (27 Dec), and a Cheltenham Open Mic session (28 Dec). Singer-songwriter Saint Senara performs on 31 Dec, marking the final day of the pop-up and the end of the two hundredth anniversary year of the foundation stone for the Pump Room being laid.

Jessica Brewster, CEO of The Cheltenham Trust said, “We have been overwhelmed by the response and support that we’ve had for the pop-up at Pittville Pump Room. We couldn’t resist taking the opportunity to pop back up over the festive period, ahead of the building closing for its scheduled works. We are looking forward to working with Cheltenham Borough Council on strengthening the sub floor to enable ongoing heritage works to protect this incredible building. Thank you to everyone who has told us their favourite memories of the Pump Room and given us their thoughts and ideas for the future – we have loved reading through the feedback we’ve had so far. Looking ahead, we are excited about developing Pittville Pump Room into a space that is permanently open to the public and celebrates the heritage of the building. We look forward to sharing more of our plans soon”.
