Lordship in the Landscape

Old Chapel Court, Church Street, Tewkesbury

Dates: 07/02/2026

Venue: Old Baptist Chapel

Lordship in the Landscape examines the question of what was a manor, and then looks at how Medieval lords exercised and expressed their lordship in the landscape, such as by building manor houses and creating deer parks. Our speaker will be using examples drawn from his research into Gloucestershire and West Oxfordshire, so our local landscape can be better understood.
