Have you ever thought about volunteering at the Dean Heritage Centre? Join us for our Volunteer Open Day on Tuesday 9 June and discover how you could help keep the Forest of Dean’s heritage alive.

Set within a beautiful five-acre woodland site in Soudley, the Dean Heritage Centre is home to museum galleries, outdoor displays, arts and crafts exhibitions, and unique attractions celebrating the history and heritage of the Forest of Dean. Volunteers play a vital role in supporting this work, helping with everything from welcoming visitors and guiding tours to collections, gardening, woodland maintenance, events, crafts and education.

 

 

Whether you are looking to meet new people, learn new skills, gain experience, support your community or simply do something rewarding with your time, we would love to meet you.

Event programme

2:00pm – Meet in the Heritage Coffee Shop
2:30pm – Guided tour of the museum and grounds
3:30pm – Coffee and cake, with a chance to meet current volunteers and ask questions

This friendly and informal open day is the perfect opportunity to find out more about the different volunteer roles available and hear first-hand what it is like to be part of the Dean Heritage Centre team.

 

No previous experience is needed — just enthusiasm, curiosity and a willingness to get involved.
