Offbeat is coming to Dursley this June

On Saturday 6th June, Offbeat will take over Dursley town centre with a day of creativity, community and unexpected moments, running from 10:00am into the evening.

 

 

This new, community-led event brings together workshops, performances, making and shared experiences — all happening across the high street and surrounding spaces. It’s not a traditional market or festival, but something more open and exploratory, where people can wander, watch, join in or simply spend time together.

The day begins at 10:00am with a series of guided walks exploring the town — from local history to herbs and bees — before opening into a curated Show & Share space under the Town Hall from 11:00am onwards. Here you’ll find artists, makers and local creatives including Gorgeous By Design, Emergence Restock, Cotswold Herb Centre and Orange Frog Vintage, alongside talks, demonstrations and live moments from artists including Barry Sykes, Charles Brockbank and Libby Bove.

 

 

Throughout the day, a growing community rope artwork will take shape — a shared act of making that connects people, stories and place, inspired by Dursley’s history of rope walks and looking ahead to the next 100 years.

From 2:30pm, music begins with Big Sis DJs, leading into a Fish Disco finale from 3:30pm to 5:30pm — because why not? A chance to gather, dance and celebrate together in the heart of the town.

From 5:30pm, the evening continues in partnership with Hopticians, with a live music takeover carrying the energy into the night.

 

Offbeat is a small, first edition — built by local people and shaped with care. It’s a celebration of community, creativity and curiosity, and of the high street as a place to come together, share ideas and see things differently. There’ll be food, there’ll be music, there’ll be things to discover.
