From The Ground Up Festival of Sustainability

‘The LifeCycle of our LifeStyle’
Saturday 4 February 2023, Cheltenham

After a highly successful event in 2022, From the Ground Up is holding another one-day Festival of Sustainability in February 2023. The central theme this year, ‘The Life Cycle of our LifeStyle”, shows the transition from want to waste: highlighting the impact of waste, the opportunities to upcycle, re-use, recycle and, of course, most importantly, the choices we can make to reduce what we buy, consume and throw away.

With participating stands, talks and a mini fashion show, Fashion Reframed, we want the Festival to be informing, interactive and fun. Visitors can engage with, and, find out more about what is happening locally, discuss options and be inspired to make positive decisions for a more sustainable way of living.

And, all this will be free to the visitor! The Festival is held in partnership with Ecotricity and Cleevely EV Motors. Participants and speakers include those representing GWT, Riverford Organic Farmers, Newland Homes, The Rivers Trust, ATC Flooring and many more.

From The Ground Up Founder, Vanessa Angelo-Thomson said: “It’s called From the Ground Up because everything does come from the soil and, it is from the ground up that we will make the essential changes to ensure a more sustainable future”

From The Ground Up is a community focused, volunteer-led group, committed to creating a forum to inform local residents. We believe that community-led events are the grass root movements that will help to make the essential changes required to support a sustainable way of life - how these changes happen in, and, for the benefit of the community and the planet.

The Festival takes place on Saturday 4 February at St Philip and St James’ Church, Leckhampton.
Entry is free from 10 am – 4.30pm.
