To round off our citywide celebration of Gloucester's amazing history, we're bringing all the fun of Gloucester Archaeology Festival to the stunning grounds of St. Oswald's Priory.

Between 11am and 4pm, bring your own picnic and enjoy activities for all the family - most of them completely free!

Meet Queen Aethelflead The Puppet as she roams the very ground in which she was laid to rest. Find out why she is annoyed with her brother and her opinion on the layout of Gloucester’s Streets!

Watch the hilarious play "The Battle of Aethelflaed" by Spaniel in the Works Theatre Company at 11:30am, 1:30pm and 3pm.

Use natural food dyes to print your own T-shirt and take it home with you (charges apply).

Get hands-on with Roman pottery and see Roman tiles like the ones made on this exact spot.

Marvel at a wide range of finds from Gloucester and beyond with Taynton Detectorists.

Meet local archaeologists who are helping to discover the past - and find out how you can get involved.

This event is suitable for all ages and abilities. It was made possible by the Grassroots Community fund of Gloucestershire County Council.
