Beckford Open Village
Dates: Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th June from 1pm - 6pm each day.
Every two years, on the first weekend in June, Beckford welcomes visitors to this charming celebration of gardens and village life.
This year there will be fourteen beautiful gardens open to explore, some new to the event. All have very different features, ranging from lakeside settings, walled gardens and courtyards to cottage gardens and wild spaces. There is also a peaceful nature reserve set around a tranquil lake.
The historic church dates to Norman times and stands at the heart of the village. The interior will be adorned with colourful flower displays and there will be bell ringing and tower tours.
Various stalls and attractions will include plant sales, tombola, homemade preserves, and local honey. There will also be classic cars, vintage radios, local arts, activities for children and lots more!
Refreshments on offer include teas with homemade cakes, a champagne bar and barbecue, freshly made baguettes, local cider and ice cream.
The theme running through this year’s event is ‘pollinators’ and this will be reflected in the church flower displays and children’s quiz trail. A beekeeper will be in attendance with an observation hive of bees, and all can learn more about these amazing insects and the importance of pollinators to our planet.
Live music will add to the atmosphere and enjoyment with sets by the Foregate Brothers on both days. Julie July and Paul Anthony will both perform on the Saturday, and the Winchcombe Community Choir will entertain you on the Sunday.
A Battle of Britain Memorial Flight flypast is scheduled each afternoon (subject to weather and operational requirements).
Entry is £8, free for children under 16. Dogs on leads are welcome.
Free parking on playing fields by Beckford Village Hall, GL20 7AD.
